The main ingredient is gitsruli (wild caraway seed - that grows exclusively in Svaneti), delightfully fragrant and extremely tasteful due to its special soil and climate. Svaneti is home to one of the the highest inhabited areas in Europe. The highest mountain in Georgia, Mount Shkhara at 5,201m is located in Svaneti. and Ushguli is considered the highest all-year-round inhabited settlement in Europe at 2100m above sea level.

You can use this seasoning spice blend on absolutely anything from flavouring when cooking variety of meat, fish, potato and soup dishes or use it as a condiment on salads, avocado toast, boiled, poached or fried eggs.

I visited Svaneti in Georgia recently and had this salt. I liked it so much I bought a packet home with me. Once back in stock on this site I'll be buying some more as it is such a great flavour that the whole family loves. Locally, they add to salads, soups, meat etc. I sprinkle it over my cheese and tomato crackers, or eggs etc ... A really delightful flavour.
